Job Description

Role Overview

Lead BIM modelling and multidisciplinary coordination for MEP building services—Drainage, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and HVAC—delivering high-quality Revit models and coordinated drawings for stations/large public buildings and associated facilities. The role will work closely with discipline engineers, BIM Manager, and project teams to ensure model integrity, clash-free coordination, and compliant deliverables through detailed design and IFC support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Revit MEP models for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems, aligned with project BIM standards, BEP, and LOD requirements (typically LOD 300–350, higher as required).
  • Produce coordinated outputs: plans, sections, schematics, details, schedules, and drawing sheets from the model, ensuring consistency and completeness.
  • Lead multi-discipline BIM coordination with architecture, structure, and other services (electrical/ICT), including clash detection, issue tracking, and resolution support.
  • Coordinate plant room and shaft modelling (AHUs, chillers/FCUs, pumps, tanks, fire pump rooms), ensuring maintainability clearances and access requirements are captured.
  • Manage system modelling quality: correct routing, slopes (drainage), elevations, tags/annotations, families, worksets, view templates, and parameter completeness.
  • Support extraction of quantities/schedules (BOQ/MTO) from models, ensuring parameter mapping is accurate and auditable.
  • Review and integrate engineer markups, design changes, and RFI responses into the model; maintain revision control and publishing discipline.
  • Support ACC/CDE workflows: model packaging, publishing, transmittals, federated model coordination, and response to client/BIM review comments.
  • Provide mentorship to BIM/CAD resources and enforce QA/QC checklists for models and drawings.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services / Civil (Public Health) Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8–12 years experience in BIM for MEP systems, with strong hands-on delivery experience across HVAC, Plumbing/Drainage, and Fire Protection.
  • Strong understanding of building services coordination principles: plant room layouts, shafts, ceiling coordination, slopes/gradients, and interface management with other disciplines.
  • Experience working on large and complex facilities (e.g., stations, airports, hospitals, high-rise, mixed-use) and delivering coordinated IFC packages.
  • Familiarity with project QA/QC and BIM governance processes; ability to manage multiple models and deadlines.

Additional Information

Software

  • Revit (MEP) – mandatory
  • Navisworks Manage (clash detection and coordination)
  • AutoCAD (2D coordination and legacy details)
  • ACC/Autodesk Construction Cloud (model publishing, issue management, coordination)
  • Dynamo exposure preferred (automation for tagging, schedules, QA checks)
  • MS Office (Excel/Word) for schedules, tracking logs, and reporting.
