Archirodon has been awarded a major Oil & Gas EPC project in UAE, and is currently building a team of experienced Commissioning Engineer, who will be based in our site Office.

 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all Instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications, ADNOC standards, and international codes (ISA, IEC).
  • Review and verify loop drawings, P&IDs, control philosophies, and logic diagrams to ensure compliance with approved design.
  • Perform loop-checking, functional testing, calibration, and configuration of smart transmitters, control valves, and final control elements.
  • Supervise and lead subcontractor teams during instrument installation verification, signal testing, and system energization.
  • Interface with DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA, and PLC vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and handover of commissioning dossiers, as-built markups, and punch list closure to the client.
  • Strictly adhere to HSE and PTW procedures, ensuring safe commissioning practices in hazardous areas.
  • Coordinate with Electrical and Mechanical commissioning teams for integrated testing (System and Sub-System level).
  • Provide progress reporting on commissioning activities and highlight areas requiring immediate management attention.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer to client operation teams as part of final system handover.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of instrument calibration, control system architecture, DCS/PLC/ESD/F&G integration, and loop verification procedures.
  • Familiarity with ADNOC, Shell, or Aramco commissioning standards.
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, I/O lists, and Logic Diagrams.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to digital instrumentation, asset management systems (AMS), and fieldbus (HART/FOUNDATION Fieldbus).
  • Understanding of permit-to-work and field isolation procedures.
  • Will use specialized tools such as calibrators, simulators, communicators, and loop-checking software.

Soft Skills / Competencies:

  • Team-oriented professional with strong coordination and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capable of handling multi-vendor interfaces and documentation-driven workflows.
  • Values safety, precision, and clear communication under pressure.
  • Fits well in a structured, cross-discipline team environment with multicultural workforce integration.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Commissioning Management Systems software’s
  • Familiar with data handlers and vendor configuration tools for DCS and ESD systems.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation & Control / Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
  • ADNOC-approved or equivalent vendor/systems training preferred (Emerson / Honeywell / Yokogawa / ABB / Siemens).
  • Essential: Minimum 10–12 years of experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation systems for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects.
  • Preferably with EPC/PMC contractors at ADNOC sites or equivalent
