You will be part of the Business Desk team at Grab Indonesia. This team plays a crucial role in evaluating and shaping the partnerships into more strategic viable solutions that support our long-term growth. We assess each opportunity for its strategic value, financial health, operational fit, and compliance with regulations. The team stays curious about business opportunities and asks the right questions to make sure every partnership is worth pursuing and built to last.

Get to Know the Role

We're looking for someone who can thoroughly evaluate partnership deals to make sure they're profitable, practical, and aligned with regulatory standards. You'll be the go-to person making sure every deal makes sense financially and operationally while supporting our growth. You will approach challenges with a business owner's mindset, appreciate the perspectives of different teams, and interest in analyzing details to uncover key insights. Based onsite at the Jakarta office, you will report directly to the Business Desk Manager.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Lead end-to-end partnership assessments, ensuring coherence between high-level strategy, operational feasibility, and customer value.
  • Evaluate financial models and P&L statements to assess deal profitability and long-term viability. Provide clear, data-backed recommendations on commercial terms.
  • Review each deal from all critical angles, gathering input and working with Legal, Finance, Ops, and Sales.
  • Identify risks and check for compliance by evaluating potential risks in partnership deals and ensure agreement on internal SOPs to minimize risk exposure for the business.
  • Validate that our partnerships align with our needs using market research and customer feedback.
  • Ensure partnerships are set up for long-term success by balancing our goals, operational reality, and market demand.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • 7+ years in business analysis and commercial roles (e.g. bizdev, strategy, consulting, and finance).
  • Experience for P&L analysis, financial modeling, and interpreting term sheets.
  • Partner engagement, with minimum of Intermediate negotiation, with proven ability to translate data and insights into applicable recommendations for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing partnership guidelines and SOPs to ensure consistent and effective collaboration.
  • Experience supporting commercial or partnership deals, included preparing proposals, checking feasibility, doing basic scenario analysis, and helping review main terms.
  • Good project management skills, able to independently manage smaller partnership projects or work streams (timelines, checklists, status tracking, follow-ups).
  • Experience analyzing partnership situations and identifying opportunities that align with Grab's strategic needs.
  • Experience spotting risks and ensuring compliance with policies/regulations.
  • Experience working with tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)) to deliver data-driven insights.
