Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician, you will join our team in Portsmouth to support our activities within the Space sector. 

You will support mechanical assembly and production activities within a structured engineering environment. Working from clear work instructions, you will use hand tools and standard software packages to complete build and assembly tasks to quality and safety standards.

  • Location: Portsmouth
  • On Site: Full-time
  • Clearance: Clearable
  • Experience Level: Junior to Mid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical assembly using hand tools
  • Follow detailed work instructions and technical documentation
  • Support build, modification, and mechanical fitting activities
  • Use standard computer software (Microsoft Office / Google packages) for documentation and tracking
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Basic mechanical hand skills and experience using hand tools
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately
  • Comfortable using standard computer software packages
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Positive, proactive attitude

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant hands on mechanical experience, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within aerospace, defence, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience working to quality standards
  • Practical workshop experience
