Kirk Market is looking for a strong, confident, and people-driven Assistant HR Manager to join our HR Department.
Reports to: HR Manager
Summary/Objective
The Assistant HR Manager is to provide support and assistance to the HR Manager in the execution of all HR services and initiatives of the Company. They will work with the entire HR team to deliver the vision, mission and values of the Company.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the planning and organizing of all activities of the HR department.
- Assist in the development and administration of various human resources plans, policies and procedures in line with best practice and legislation. Also maintain the HR procedural handbook.
- Assist with resolving employee relation issues. Conduct assessments, meetings and recommend outcomes in line with policy. Where necessary, recommend Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).
- Advice and guide management teams on all HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Review all immigration processing done by HR Administrator, while providing proactive communication to them and managers. Helps oversee the Business Staffing Plan and ensure maintenance of other records and reports to conform with CI Immigration regulations.
- Help monitor and manage the recruitment, onboarding and offboarding process.
- Monitor overall HR information system (BambooHR) and ensure it’s up to date with information captured by the HR Team.
- Participate in developing department goals, initiatives, objectives and systems.
- Work alongside HR Team to conduct and coordinate various training as needed.
- Assist with the supervision of other HR personnel as needed.
- Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by HR Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or relevant hands-on experience in a similar HR role
- 3-5 years of HR experience, with leadership knowledge or exposure.
- Proficient knowledge of all HR functions, best practices and Cayman Islands Immigration and Labour laws.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience with HRIS (BambooHR preferred but not essential).
- Ability to use initiative, act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Good organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Can work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- People oriented, results driven and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Work hours
40 hour work week, Monday to Friday. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and flexible hours if required.
Salary & Benefits
CI$60K per annum (starting salary), with flexibility based on experience.
