Substitute Receptionist - Middleburg Heights Campus

Reports to: Dennis Barta | Congregational Care

Position Purpose 

This position serves to be a substitute for the long-term receptionist at the Middleburg Heights Campus, for times when the receptionist has planned time off or may call in sick. The substitute may be asked to fill in for one or multiple days or even a week at a time, or may be occasionally asked to come in for partial days or short-notice.

The Receptionist should always be the bright and smiling face of Grace Church, to be professional and present, offering God’s grace to anyone walking through our doors. This position exists to be a personal presence and support to both staff and congregants during the office hours at the Grace MH Campus. 

Main Responsibilities

• Screen and field incoming communication 
• Welcome and assist guests entering the building
• Shepard those who need prayer support or someone to listen to their story

Essential Duties 

• Answer phones and provide information for general questions/prayer requests
• Welcome/assist lobby guests; listen and/or pray with them
• Process/forward UPS, FedEx and Amazon deliveries
• Forward prayer requests to Prayer Coordinator
• Assist Congregational Pastor as needed
• Maintain Welcome Desk by keeping it tidy and with updated information
• Assist other ministries with simple jobs

Qualifications

• Familiarity and closeness with Grace Church, its events, and congregation
• Ability to learn and master basic computer skills and programs
• Ability to learn and confidently use the phone system
• A flexible schedule, able to work when a substitute is needed either planned in advance or occasionally short-notice
