Role Summary

The Senior Project Engineer provides technical leadership and project oversight across all phases of engineering and execution. This role ensures project objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards. The Senior Project Engineer mentors junior team members and contributes to continuous improvement of engineering and project delivery processes.

• Experience in project execution in the onshore environment, including design, contracting, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Conceptual, Front End & Detail Design Engineering activities for Conceptual through to Commissioning of Greenfield Projects and any other related project engineering activities within the project group
• Experience in engineering coordination with various discipline Engineers and Project team during feasibility and Concept optimization, Studies, FEED and EPIC.
• Experience in Oil & Gas facilities project delivery including oil production systems, water handling and treatment systems, gas production, gas treatment and conditioning systems.
• Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to adapt to new systems and processes, finding ways to work around issues.
• Experience in preparing project resource Histograms, Performance analysis data, and Earned Value Analysis.
• Expert user of Primavera P6 software about the project level and an overall understanding of project execution
• Experience working with Project Management Plans (PMP), specifications, and estimates.
• Monitoring project expenses, identifying cost variances, and taking corrective actions to stay within budget constraints. 
• Activity planning, work scheduling, progress monitoring to meet the project schedule with resource optimization.
• Interface with other disciplines, user departments and Vendors/Contractors.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provision of project performance data, project schedules in a concise and timely manner as required by the Project Manager
• Responsible for leading and coordinating Projects Team to provide complete projects management services to execute assigned tasks and responsibilities from inception to completion and handover.
• Organize, direct, and lead major projects to deliver the desired results within time, cost, budget and quality.
• Manage project exigency and outcome to meet the project schedule as well as supporting planning and scheduling activities during WP&BS development.
• Participate in the preparation of tender packages, tendering process, evaluation of tenders and submissions with appropriate recommendations to relevant tender Committees.
• Prepare/review and implement project plans such as Project Execution, Risk Management, Assurance, Quality, HSE interface etc.
• Monitors project performance against an agreed plan and budget and initiate corrective action where appropriate to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Identifies and records changes to the project scope of work, engages and negotiates contractors’ variations and claims.
• Responsible for project controls and ensures that the Project Manager is kept informed of the progress of the work and highlighting significant deviations from plans and providing proposals for remedial actions.
• Provides internal project reporting by using monthly/weekly dashboards, and quarterly project reviews as needed.
• Develop Project Execution Strategies and Plans, manage Project Interfaces, support Management of Change (MOC), manage and communicate Project performance, identify, and manage Project Risks
• Preparation of engineering package to define the scope appropriate for the project phase, in line with the expectation of fit-for-purpose project delivery guidelines.
• Make appropriate use of the company`s internal tools and processes to ensure that the project quality and technical integrity requirements are met.
• Participate and provides input to support project schedule, project cost, budget, contract administration, progress reporting, change management and gate approval activities.
• Participate in the review and development of company procedures and guidelines as and when assigned.
• Manage relationships with various discipline engineers, contract packages and other stakeholders.
• Regularly communicating project status updates to key stakeholders, addressing concerns, and managing expectation.

Qualifications:

B.SC/ B.Eng. in an Engineering discipline from any recognized University. Masters in related fields will be an advantage.

Experience:

A minimum of twelve 10 years relevant experience in engineering, project management and execution of oil & gas projects

Membership in a recognized professional engineering and/or project management association/institution would be an advantage.

Software and other Skills:

• Expert skill in using project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and develop relationships across teams, and to deliver with others.
• Skilled in presentation and communications
• Strong negotiation skills to implement contracts with subcontractors and vendors to satisfy budgets, quality, safety, and time requirements.
• Excellent planning and organizing skills.
• Project management and teamwork.
