The team you’ll join 

Deloitte New Zealand's Tax & Business Advisory team is widely regarded as experts and leaders in their field. We are looking for an Associate Director to join our Tauranga based team. You will be an experienced tax and accounting professional wanting to take the next step in their career with a leading brand.

Our Business Advisory team in Tauranga works closely with our Hamilton office and together they bring both a deep knowledge of tax and statutory requirements and a breadth of experience applying that knowledge in practice. Our approach combines insight and innovation from multiple disciplines with business and industry knowledge to help our clients excel. We utilise this knowledge and experience by simplifying tax management for clients and enhancing their visibility for making informed strategic decisions. 

Job Description

The impact you’ll make 

As an Associate Director you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients ranging in size and covering a broad range of  tax and accounting issues. You will develop effective business relationships with clients, advise on a range of business advisory and tax issues to clients, including in the context of transaction work, business operations and strategy, and domestic and international tax work. and exceed our client’s expectations and partner with their businesses to grow. Your typical day may include:

• Providing expert tax & accounting advice across a diverse client base
• Leading and managing a client portfolio
• Helping clients manage risks and achieve their business objectives
• Developing teams through coaching and mentorship
• Utilising modern tools to enhance client service and efficiency

Qualifications

Your expertise:

Bring you experience and passion for providing impactful tax advice and see what impact you could make. 

You'll also have:

• A minimum of 6 years work experience in a professional services tax or accounting environment
• A professional qualification in law or accounting
• A strong understanding of end-to-end tax processes & the NZ tax environment
• Proven organisational and communications skills.
• An energetic and proactive attitude
• A results focus & be client oriented
