Job Description

This role sits at the core of our Data & BI function, translating data into actionable insights for stakeholders. The Associate Business Analyst will work closely with business teams to understand their needs, extract and analyse data and deliver clear, impactful outputs through dashboards, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.

The position combines technical data skills with strong business understanding, requiring the ability not only to produce data, but to interpret it, challenge assumptions, and drive meaningful outcomes.

• Extract, manipulate, and analyse large datasets from Snowflake using SQL, turning data into clear, actionable insights - not just outputs.
• Design, build, and maintain dbt models for the analytics semantic layer, ensuring data consistency, documentation, and reusability.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and widely adopted by the business.
• Translate business questions into structured analysis, delivering concise and impactful insights to stakeholders.
• Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making across multiple business areas, with a strong focus on speed and accuracy.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of self-serve analytics, enabling teams to independently access and explore data.
• Apply version control best practices (Git) to all analytical work, including dbt models and documentation.
• Support team members in dbt, Git, and data modelling practices through day-to-day collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with Data Engineering and other teams to improve data availability, quality, and usability.
• Continuously challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and proactively propose data-driven solutions to business problems.

Qualifications

Essential:

• A degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Demonstrable experience with SQL and data analysis.
• Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to query, optimise, and model large datasets in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with dbt (building, testing, and documenting models).
• Working knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Understanding of data modelling principles (star schema, dimensional modelling).
• Proficiency in Excel. Fluent level of written and spoken English.

Desired:

• Experience with BI and data visualisation tools (e.g. Omni, Looker, Power BI, Tableau).
• Interest in sports and/or familiarity with the sports betting / iGaming industry.
• An understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
• Experience working in digital, data-driven, or iGaming environments.
• Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Optimove, or similar marketing/data platforms
• Portuguese and/or Spanish
