The Opportunity


We' re seeking a Blaster to join our team in the Okanagan, supporting civil construction projects across the region.


As a Blaster, you’ll play a key role in preparation of blasting plans, loading of and detonating blasts. You’ll work hands-on with a skilled crew in the field, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency every step of the way. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, tackling big challenges, and being part of projects that shape communities.


Although we are a union affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite. 


Your Key Responsibilities


  • Work Safely in accordance with company and work Safe BC standards. 
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and crews to plan and execute blasts.
  • Prepare blasting plans. 
  • Load and detonate blasts.
  • Travel to project sites across BC and work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.


Your Qualifications & Skills


  • Blasting experience around houses and urban settings is considered an asset.
  • Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Natural ability to solve problems, communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Be able to work flexible work hours based on job requirements.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Experience working in the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Must possess a BC Mines Blasting Ticket.
  • Must possess a Work Safe BC Urban Blasting Ticket.
  • Knowledge in blasting shearline and production techniques.
  • Understanding of the Work Safe requirements for Blasting.
  • Current TDG ticket.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean abstract.

  • Union hourly rate: $35.00–$42.00 per hour.
