Main challenge

As the HR Manager at Gameloft Brisbane, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering a group of over 120 talented professionals across multiple game teams. Our Brisbane studio is a fast-growing and strategic hub within our global network, focused on delivering high-quality PC and console game experiences for a worldwide audience.

You will act as a trusted partner to leadership, shaping people strategies that drive performance, engagement, and long-term growth. This is a unique opportunity to influence both the employee experience and the studio’s evolution in a dynamic, creative industry.

What it means on a daily basis

  • Partner with studio leadership to define and execute people strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Coach and support managers on talent needs (e.g. talent acquisition and development), leadership, team effectiveness, and organizational design.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and performance, including the localization of globally driven HR programs (e.g. performance review, salary review, etc.)
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, HR data and reporting, employment law, performance management, pay and benefits.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation (including application of Modern Awards) and company standards.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, inclusion, and innovation.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and career growth frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry bodies (e.g. IGEA, Screen Queensland) and local stakeholders.

What success will look like

  • Take a pragmatic approach to local challenges, ensuring clear visibility on progress and follow-up for both local management and the global HR team.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and act as an internal advisor on related matters including proactively identifying and delivering measures to manage employment relations risk.
  • Build a good understanding of both global and local HR initiatives in place to build an achievable roadmap, with a focus on what matters most in terms of business goals, HR ambition and Employee Value Proposition.
  • Build trust with the Studio Manager, providing effective support with a particular focus on employee relations, employee engagement, and the performance and salary review cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with the global HR community to ensure alignment and share best practices.

Who you would be working with

You will work closely with the Studio Manager in Brisbane and all Studio Directors on all disciplines, all along the Gamelofters’ journey in the studio. You will manage a local cross-functional HR team of 3 professionals.

Your Recruitment Journey

  • First stage: A 40-minute HR interview on Teams.
  • Second stage: A 1-hour interview with the Gameloft Brisbane Studio Manager & Finance Manager
  • Third stage: A 1-hour interview with the VP of HR based in Paris and the Gameloft Brisbane Studio Manager

Qualifications

What you need to succeed

  • A solid background in Human Resources, with 2 to 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in delivering the full employee life cycle (i.e. payroll and benefits, talent management, organizational development, performance management, etc.)
  • Expertise in employee relations and case management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
