**This is an overnight position. We currently have both full-time and part-time opportunities!**

Veterinary Emergency Services of Lincoln is a well-established, progressive, fast-paced, after-hours emergency practice. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including emergency surgery, in-house diagnostics, digital full body radiology, ultrasonography, and medical urgent emergent services. We believe in delivering prompt, compassionate care when it matters most.

Our hours of operation are:

  • Monday – Friday: 6pm to 7am
  • Saturday from 12 noon and closing Monday at 7am
  • We are also open on holidays!

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

  • minimum of 2 years experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member.
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work.
  • Weekend and overnight availability required.
  • Compassionate and calm team-player.
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner.
  • Proficient in assisting with sample collection- include blood, urine, and fecal collection.
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests.
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs.
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency.
