About this role

Job Summary

The Business Analytics Practice Lead is responsible to build and lead a consulting practice focused on helping our clients’ executives leverage analytics to drive measurable business outcomes.  This role will define our analytics advisory approach, create executive-level insight frameworks, and develop reusable analytics content and tools on the Omni and Microsoft BI, and Infor Birst platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, analytics expertise, and consulting leadership experience.  The Business Analytics Practice Lead will act as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders while building scalable methodologies while growing a small, high-impact team.  This role is a business oriented, strategic leader, and a technical expert.


Key Responsibilities

Practice Development & Strategy

  • Design and launch a business analytics consulting practice aligned to customer needs in the mid-market ERP space.
  • Define service offerings, engagement models, and value proposition for executive audiences
  • Establish repeatable frameworks, methodologies, best practices for services delivery.
  • Serve as technical lead and mentor for BI developers and analysts


Analytics & Reporting Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of analytics solutions using Power BI, Birst and Omni
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and analytics requirements
  • Ensure alignment between business definitions, semantic models, and reporting outputs
  • Deliver actionable insights that support executive, operational, and strategic decision-making


Power BI & Omni Development

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets
  • Build and manage Omni analytics to ensure consistent metric definitions across tools
  • Define business logic centrally in Omni analytics to support governed self-service analytics
  • Write and optimize DAX measures and Omni metrics
  • Manage Power BI Service workspaces, apps, permissions, and refresh schedules


Data Modeling & Architecture

  • Design dimensional and star-schema data models optimized for BI and analytics use cases
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines, transformations, and warehouse design
  • Support Omni’s semantic layer integration with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, Azure Synapse)
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of analytics solutions


Governance, Security & Best Practices

  • Establish analytics governance standards across Power BI and Omni
  • Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) and access controls
  • Maintain documentation for semantic models, KPIs, dashboards, and data definitions
  • Promote best practices for version control, deployment, and testing


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on Power BI experience
  • Experience building or managing semantic layers (Omni, LookML, dbt metrics, or similar)
  • Strong skills in DAX, SQL, and data modeling
  • Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Omni Analytics
  • Experience leading analytics or BI teams in a consulting environment
  • Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent)
  • Experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Familiarity with dbt, CI/CD for analytics, or modern data stack tooling
  • Experience delivering executive and enterprise-level dashboards
