Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Beirut, Lebanon. In this role, you'll support our accounting operations by managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all accounting activities. - Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accurate financial records
- Prepare, record, and post journal entries for all business transactions with meticulous attention to detail
- Process and issue invoices and supporting documentation in a timely manner
- Manage petty cash operations and perform regular reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and account reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements under supervision
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure accuracy
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems for accounting documents
- Analyze financial information and identify potential issues or areas for improvement
- Assist with various accounting projects and special assignments as directed by management
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and procedures
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding accounting matters
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Analytical ability to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive approach with initiative for continuous improvement and problem-solving
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Familiarity with Lebanese tax regulations and accounting requirements
- Fluency in Arabic and English languages
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
- Certification or pursuit of professional accounting credentials
