We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supermarket Supervisor to join our team in Mozambique, Mozambique. As a Supermarket Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient store environment.
- Lead and manage a team of supermarket staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure high standards of customer service and address customer inquiries and complaints promptly
- Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering, receiving, and rotation
- Manage cash handling procedures and prepare financial reports
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards
- Implement and monitor loss prevention strategies
- Collaborate with department managers to optimize store layout and product placement
- Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns in a professional manner
- Assist in developing and implementing promotional activities and sales strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in retail management or supervisory role, preferably in grocery or supermarket operations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and cash handling procedures
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Computer literacy, including experience with POS systems and inventory software
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
- Knowledge of retail operations, best practices, and food safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is highly desirable
