The IT Digital and Data Services Competence Center of ContiTech caters to all the Business Areas in ContiTech and responsible among other on areas of Data & Analytics, Web and Mobile Software Development and AI

The team for Data services specializes in all platforms, business applications and products in the domain of data and analytics, covering the entire spectrum including AI, machine learning, data science, data analysis, reporting and dashboarding.

Job Description

  • Define, implement, and govern enterprise-scale Power BI architecture and development standards across all business functions globally
  • Bridge business reporting needs with scalable, secure, and governed technical solutions using Power BI, in alignment with the overall Azure- & Databricks-based data platform strategy
  • Promote standardization, reusability, and maintainability of semantic models, datasets, and reporting components
  • Enable enterprise-wide data democratization by establishing shared datasets, certified content, and a strong "Power BI as-code" delivery framework
  • Reports to: Head of Data & Analytics
  • Collaborates with: Power BI developers, data engineers, DevOps engineers, and business-side data domain owners, lead architect (data and analytics) & lead data engineers.
  • Geographic scope: Global (all business functions including operations, sales, engineering, R&D, HR, finance, and procurement)
  • Platform scope: Power BI service (including tenant configuration, workspace strategy, enterprise gateway infrastructure, REST APIs, deployment tooling) interfacing closely with Azure Databricks, and related Azure-native services

 

Main Tasks

- Design and maintain Power BI architectural standards and integration patterns with Azure Databricks and other platform components
- Define approaches to shared datasets, semantic models, and certified content
- Guide workspace strategy and capacity planning for global scalability and access control

- Define and enforce governance policies (naming conventions, workspace lifecycle, role-based access controls)
- Establish reusable patterns and standards for semantic model design and report lifecycle
- Support tenant-wide reviews and configuration of security, sharing, and compliance settings

- Promote “Power BI as code” through versioning, deployment automation, and reuse of assets
- Provide templates, CI/CD integration patterns, and developer guidelines for internal Power BI teams
- Enable the setup and governance of shared semantic models to minimize duplication and manual effort

- Design and support solutions for hybrid connectivity using enterprise gateways
- Define secure and performant refresh strategies for hybrid and direct query models
- Support DevOps engineers in operational monitoring and incident resolution for gateway-related dependencies

- Serve as technical liaison to business-side data domain owners and reporting teams
- Ensure Power BI strategy aligns with broader data platform architecture and governance
- Drive adoption of best practices and provide architectural oversight to internal Power BI developers

 

Qualifications

  • Education / Certification:
    Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or related field
    Preferred: Microsoft Certified – Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent Power Platform certifications
  • Professional Experience:
    Minimum 5 years in designing and delivering enterprise Power BI solutions
    Proven experience in defining reusable models, governance policies, and deployment standards
  • Project or Process Experience:
    Experience leading or supporting Power BI initiatives across multiple business domains and geographies
    Deep familiarity with implementation patterns in hybrid reporting environments (cloud/on-prem)
  • Leadership Experience:
    Demonstrated architectural leadership across technical teams and business stakeholders; influence through standards and best practices rather than direct reporting lines
  • Intercultural / International Experience:
    Experience working in global organizations with cross-functional teams across time zones and cultures
