Job Description

Role Summary 

talabat is the leading food and Q-commerce marketplace in Qatar, delivering food, groceries & more to thousands of customers on a daily basis. We are seeking a Managing Director (MD) for Qatar who excels in dynamic, fast paced environments, with a knack for problem solving. The MD of Qatar should have an entrepreneurial, strategic mindset, with a mission to unlock new avenues of growth for talabat, whether by expanding our food business, further scaling our Q-commerce business, or growing our ecosystem products (i.e. Subscription, Rewards, Fintech).

The MD of Qatar will be tasked to elevate the performance of the existing organisation and simplify its operating model, maximising synergies between functions & verticals. Team leadership and culture building are key skill sets needed to thrive in this role. The MD of Qatar will be a senior member of the talabat Management team, and will be the ultimate owner of the full P&L (on a strategic, tactical, and day to day level).

What's On Your Plate? 

In this role, you will represent the local voice to regional teams, while working closely with the Chief International Officer (CIO) and other C-level executives to:

• Shape a seamless, effective operating model, across all business verticals (food & Q-commerce).
• Maximize synergies across teams, programs and verticals, and build a culture of growth.
• Define quarterly OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and priorities for Qatar team.
• Act as the key 'customer' for the Product and Technology organization, collaborating to set priorities and solve problems.
• You will have full ownership of performance and P&L, which includes:
  • Designing and executing the strategy and business plan for talabat in Qatar.
  • Preparing and negotiating annual budgets, ensuring EBITDA targets are met on a monthly, quarterly & annual basis, and recommending additional investments if necessary.
  • Leading a large, diverse team across multiple programs and verticals.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations in key functions such as logistics, marketing, sales, performance and partnerships, while representing the company in legal matters, public relations, communications, and government relations.
  • Identifying and analyzing opportunities for accelerated growth across various programs and verticals.
  • Leveraging data to drive decision making, whether to address day-to-day problems, or tackle long term opportunities.
  • Launching local, regional, and global transformational programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that can scale globally.

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven track record in driving successful operations, and implementing core strategies that impact both top-line and bottom-line results, preferably in leadership positions. With experience in uncovering problems and designing solutions for dynamic and fast-paced businesses, you are passionate about your work and adept at navigating complex systems daily to deliver business impact.
