The office of Laila Goodridge, Member of Parliament for Fort McMurray—Cold Lake is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Caseworker position. Depending on candidate, we would consider either full-time or part-time.

About the role:

In this position, you will play an essential role in keeping the constituency office running smoothly by managing and triaging the Member’s incoming emails and communications, organizing and prioritizing correspondence, and working directly with constituents to address their needs. Reporting directly to the Member of Parliament, you will provide a combination of casework, executive, and administrative support that helps advance the office’s priorities and ensures constituents receive timely, effective assistance. In this role, you will contribute to a team where your work will help strengthen the office’s service and help deliver meaningful support to the community.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Welcome and support constituents with professionalism and compassion, whether they contact the office in person, by phone, or through email.
  • Help constituents access government services related to Employment Insurance, Passports, Citizenship and Immigration, Firearms licensing, Service Canada, Revenue Canada, Canada Pension Plan, and Old Age Security.
  • Help coordinate and prepare for MP-related functions such as meetings, town halls, and other public engagements.
  • Assist with organizing and identifying community outreach efforts, local events, and engagement activities.
  • Provide general administrative and office support as needed.

Anticipated Start Date: June 2026

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with experience. The position includes a benefits package (health, dental, and pension).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Experiences:

  • Experience working in an office setting providing reception or administrative support.
  • Experience working in a client service environment.
  • Experience managing client relationships by applying strong attention to detail, adapting effectively to changing needs, and using sound analytical judgment.
  • Experience collaborating with others and working in a team.

Asset:

  • Bilingualism in both French and English.
