Job Description

We’re looking for an early-career Building Surveyor to join our Colliers Project Leaders team in our Auckland CBD office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or junior professional to build a strong foundation in building surveying while gaining hands-on experience across a range of projects and clients.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll support the delivery of building inspections, technical reports, and project activities, while developing your skills across both building consultancy and project management.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team environment where learning, growth, and career progression are prioritised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with building surveys including condition surveys, measured surveys, and access audits
  • Support the preparation of building surveying reports and technical advice
  • Contribute to defect analysis, investigations, and maintenance planning activities
  • Assist with insurance assessments and claims-related work
  • Support project management activities including contract administration and project coordination
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Monitor site works and report on progress under guidance
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Contribute to a high-performing team culture focused on delivering great client outcomes

Qualifications

The value you’ll add

  • A degree in Building Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ideally some exposure to the construction or property industry
  • Basic understanding of building construction methods and materials
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to learn and grow in a professional environment
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office tools
  • Full driver’s license
