Job Description

  • As a subject matter expert, you will consistently work to improve our suppliers' performance and the quality of our products.
  • Supplier Auditing: Own the auditing process across all supplier management phases, including potential analysis, Cooperate Social Responsibility audits, initial sample process audits and comprehensive process audits.
  • Supplier Development: Lead and support supplier quality and cost improvement activities. Conduct workshops, trainings, and regular follow-up visits to enhance supplier capabilities and performance in line with Bosch's requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Intervene in critical supplier quality issues. You will take the lead onsite when our global plants require local support or when progress is stalled. Your role is to expertly coach the suppliers to master and apply structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to ensure root causes are identified and holistically eliminated.
  • Supplier Escalation Management: Manage supplier escalations that require higher management involvement, including the implementation and execution of dedicated quality measures, through to successful de-escalation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality assurance, or a development role within the industrial or consumer electronics sector.
  • Profound knowledge in applying quality assurance principles and tools (e.g.,Control Plan, SPC, Poka-Yoke, FMEA).
  • Strong knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why Analysis, six sigma).
  • Proven experience in conducting process audits, ideally with a formal qualification as a VDA 6.3 Process Auditor or a comparable certification.
  • Deep expertise in a specific material domain (e.g., Plastic parts, PCBA, cells, stamped parts, printed products, casting), coupled with a solid understanding of the associated manufacturing processes.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) is essential for clear and effective discussions with internal managers, technical experts, and our partners at the supplier.
  • Highly self-organized and self-reliant, with a strong ability to work independently. A self-reflected individual who is eager to learn and grow.
  • Demonstrates persistence and determination in managing complex situations and following up on topics and demands to ensure completion.
  • Rapidly grasps new production processes with a keen ability to foresee and evaluate potential risks.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong leadership mindset and the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently across all organizational levels.
  • A high willingness to frequently travel to supplier sites, concentrated in the Penang area but also including locations across Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asia region.

Additional Information

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to mentor
component suppliers within our Bosch power tools division. In this key role, you will be
responsible for driving sustainable supplier quality improvement and ensuring the high quality
of our final products.


Based at our Penang plant, you will partner with commercial mentors to drive our regional and
global supplier strategy while also representing the Southeast Asian supply base in
collaborations with worldwide project purchasing and quality management teams. This role,
which requires frequent travel, o􀆯ers significant autonomy and the opportunity for a highimpact
contributor to demonstrate leadership.
