Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Application Software. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and integration of application-layer software for secure vehicle access systems.

The candidate will work closely with global teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver high-quality software solutions, ensuring robust performance, security, and seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze system and software requirements and translate them into high-quality application software solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Application Software (ASW) components in embedded C.
  • Lead integration of application features within the overall system architecture (including interaction with BSW and hardware layers).
  • Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex software defects.
  • Develop and execute test cases for functional validation and system-level verification.
  • Participate in and lead technical reviews (requirements, design, code, and testing).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system, hardware, validation) to ensure end-to-end feature performance.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements, track issues, and drive resolution.
  • Support software release activities, including build, integration, and defect triage.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10 year experience 
  • Strong experience in embedded software development using C, including software integration.
  • Proven experience in requirement analysis, with the ability to translate requirements into robust software solutions.
  • Ability to clarify requirements and drive technical alignment with local and global cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in test case design and execution for functional and system-level validation.
  • Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills in embedded systems.
  • Experience ensuring overall system performance, including interaction between application software and lower layers.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers, including issue tracking and driving timely resolution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to communicate effectively in fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (V-model) in automotive environments.
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in vehicle access systems, keyless entry, or Perfectly Keyless (PK) technologies.
  • Knowledge of RF communication technologies, including BLE, UWB, and NFC.
  • Experience with AUTOSAR environments (interaction between ASW and BSW layers).
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Vector CANoe, and iSYSTEM winIDEA.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts in automotive systems (secure communication, authentication).
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 and/or ASPICE processes
