About Kambo Energy Group

At Kambo, we advance equitable access to energy, transportation, and housing programs through scalable, community-led models. In addition to Custom Client Solutions, Kambo delivers three in-house programs: Empower Me®, Community Power, and the Home Upgrades Program.

Empower Me delivers multilingual education, support, and coaching services to ensure underrepresented communities have access to energy, climate, and home retrofit programs.

Community Power supports Indigenous Nations to build, renovate, and improve community housing.

Home Upgrades Program provides fully subsidized energy retrofits to improve affordability for households living in energy poverty.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the VP, Growth Operations, the Tribal Partnerships & Engagement Manager owns expanding Kambo’s partnerships with Tribal communities and organizations across the U.S. West Coast, including California, Oregon, and Washington, while also supporting opportunities in other regions with strong Tribal community presence across the U.S.

This role is focused on community engagement and relationship-building, helping support Tribal Nations and communities access the benefits of efficiency and clean energy programs. You will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, building trust with stakeholders, and supporting the development of programs that align with community priorities.

About You

You understand that working with Tribal Nations is not transactional work, it’s relational, long-term, and grounded in trust. You’re comfortable operating at the pace that trust requires, not the pace of a typical sales cycle. You know that showing up, listening well, and following through matters more than pushing for quick outcomes.

You are either part of Tribal communities yourself or have spent meaningful time working alongside them. You understand the cultural context, governance structures, and lived realities that shape how Tribal Nations engage with partners. You recognize the importance of sovereignty, respect it in practice, not just in language, and navigate conversations with humility and awareness.

You read the room well. You know when to move forward and when to slow down. You understand that relationship-building might look like many conversations before anything formal happens, and you’re comfortable with that. You don’t force momentum, you build it.

You’re deeply curious and grounded. You listen more than you talk, ask thoughtful questions, and take the time to understand community priorities before offering solutions. You’re able to connect the dots between energy programs and the broader realities communities are navigating, housing, cost of living, infrastructure, and long-term wellbeing.

You bring strong judgment and follow-through. When you say you’ll do something, you do it. People trust you because you are consistent, transparent, and respectful of their time and priorities.

You’re comfortable building something from the ground up, opening doors, nurturing relationships over time, and helping shape opportunities that are aligned with community needs. Internally, you bring structure, clarity, and accountability. Externally, you represent Kambo with care, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to doing this work the right way.

Above all, you care about people, community outcomes, and doing work that is both effective and respectful. You’re motivated by impact, but you understand that how you get there matters just as much as the outcome.
