About this role

Reports to the Director of Counseling Services, the Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapist plays a key role in delivering high-quality psychotherapeutic services to youth and their families. The IIC Therapist provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families in their homes or other community-based settings.
This role focuses on helping families manage behavioral health challenges, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. Services are designed to prevent the need for more restrictive placements, such as residential treatment or foster care.


Responsibilities:


Assessment and Diagnosis:
-Conduct comprehensive assessments of the child or adolescent and their family dynamics.
-Identify behavioral, emotional, and psychological challenges.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Review referral information and contact the youth/family within 48 hours of assignment.
- Document referral sources and communicate with the referring care manager to review the youth’s history and needs.


Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide weekly individual therapy to youth.
- Offer clinical support and guidance to parents, guardians, and caregivers in the home setting.


Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other professionals involved in the client’s care, including treatment team members and referring agencies.
- Maintain regular communication with the referring care manager to review progress, discuss ongoing service needs, and monitor authorization timelines.
Family Support and Education:
- Educate family members on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and effective parenting techniques.
- Encourage active family participation in the therapeutic process to promote positive outcomes.


Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with agency policies and licensing regulations. 

- Submit all client-related paperwork monthly to the Director of Counseling Services at 106 Apple St., Suite 110, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724.
- Submit timesheets and completed/signed Service Delivery Forms for each face-to-face visit on a biweekly basis.


Supervision:
- Participate in biweekly supervision with the Director of Counseling Services.
- Free clinical supervision is available to therapists who maintain a minimum active caseload of six (6) clients.


Service Area:
-This position primarily serves clients in Ocean County, NJ and surrounding areas. Candidates must be willing to travel to client homes and community locations.


Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline.
- Appropriate licensure or certification (LCSW, LPC, LSW, or LAC).


Skills and Abilities:
-Strong understanding of mental health disorders, behavioral interventions, and family systems.
-Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex cases. Familiarity with community resources and referral processes.
-Comfort working in clients’ homes and community settings.


Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required for travel to client homes).
Successful completion of background checks and required clearances (e.g., criminal history, child abuse).
Maintenance of personal malpractice insurance coverage throughout employment.


Additional Details:

Work Schedule: Fee-for-service position with flexible hours. Caseload and number of visits may vary.
