Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

  • Manage and track inspections of heavy equipment, lifting machinery, construction vehicles, and light vehicles at site.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspection of heavy equipment, lifting machinery, construction vehicles, and light vehicles at site to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify third-party certificates, operator licenses, and equipment documentation prior to site mobilization.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inspection register for all equipment deployed at site.
  • Identify defects, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance issues, and immediately report them to HSE and Construction teams.
  • Recommend removal from service of any defective or uncertified equipment.
  • Participate in incident investigations related to equipment failure or lifting operations.
  • Support audits and client inspections by ensuring equipment records are readily available.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with lifting procedures and project safety requirements.
  • Promote Stop Work Authority when unsafe equipment conditions are identified.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent .

Experience

  • LEEA certification is mandatory.
  • Client-specific project experience, based on the work location, is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting plans and rigging practices.
  • Project based safety control experience gained within the Oil and Gas industry/EPC projects or Petrochemical.

Knowledge

  • Hold an Entry Certificate issued by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA, UK)
    along with following two Diplomas as minimum:
    - Lifting Equipment General (Lifting Gear General)
    - Lifting Machines Manual
    - Lifting Machines Power
    - Runways & Crane structure
    - Overhead Travelling and Portal Cranes
    - Offshore Containers
    - Mobile Cranes.
    - Any other heavy equipment / Vehicles 
  • Competent knowledge in HSE.
  • Knowledgeable in documentation and presentation.
  •  
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point Presentation applications.
