Job Description

General Characteristics (Job Summary)

  • Review technical specifications and prepare Quality Assurance Plans, QC.
  • Monitor NDE Procedures and assist with establishing acceptable working Practices for Construction activities.
  • Monitor UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, PMI, PAUT/ToFD, HT NDT methods and Pre-Heat, PWHT of welded joints and chart review of Post Weld Heat Treated (PWHT) joints.
  • Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
  • Establish inspection and test plans and its record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
  • Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and recording its result.
  • Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To carry out surveillance activities relating to Quality and NDE inspection in-house and external vendors.
  • To be able to understand and interpret complex blueprints / engineering drawings and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Managing and performing inspection of NDE activities.
  • Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
  • Prepare / Review the following Quality procedure documents submitted by the Subcontractors such are Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Approval Request (MAR).
  • Prepare / Review / Approve the related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
  • Controlling inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
  • Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes (providing ITP and managing Matrix).
  • Control NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) to be closed out within the due date and supporting to prepare Corrective Action Plan properly.
  • Performing and coordinating inspection with client.
  • Carry out QC Supervisor’s responsibility in their absence.
  • Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.
  • Review and track material submittals required for NDE Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
  • Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Sub-contractors related to NDE Definable Features of Work.
  • Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
  • Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
  • Ensure to apply lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.
  • Ensure all the personnel employed and operating in NDE and PWHT activities is duly skilled and qualified in accordance with the applicable specifications, codes and regulations as per requirement of client.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDT Results including radiographic films.
  • Perform UT, MT, PT on material during the Raw, Semi-machined, Final machined.

Qualifications

Key Requirement

  • Aramco experience is needed.
  • Additionally, with CBT Pass is preferred for QC inspector.
  • If you have SAP No. and pass the CBT, please mention it in your CV.

Experience

  • Preferred documented experience in direct NDT and Welding Inspection experience as well as experience in the coordination of NDT works on major construction sites.
  • From project start to completion.
  • Hands on experience as QC/Welding/NDE Inspector in related industries.

Knowledge

  • Identification of risks to the quality of work and the completion program, and associated solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Inspection activities as per applicable codes and standards.
  • Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
  • Able to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
  • Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figuring out solutions.
  • Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale project (0.5~1.5 billion dollar).
  • Good working knowledge of ISO standards, ASME IX, API 6A, and other Quality and Productivity tools.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
