About this role

ABOUT BESTOW

Life insurance is one of the world's most important products. It's also one of the hardest to build, distribute, and modernize. Bestow exists to change that.

Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform serving some of the largest and most innovative life insurers. Our platform unifies the fragmented, legacy value chain, enabling carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years. Carriers choose us to scale and operate at unprecedented speed, powered by AI and automation.

Bestow isn't selling policies. We're building the infrastructure that helps an entire industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise.

Backed by leading investors (Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, 8VC) and trusted by major carriers, Bestow is powered by a team that moves with precision, purpose, and heart. If you want to help reimagine a centuries-old industry with lasting impact, join us.

Bestow offers flexible remote/hybrid work, meaningful benefits, equity, and substantial growth opportunities.

Bestow uses E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. To learn more about E-Verify, including your rights and responsibilities, please visit E-Verify.gov.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Bestow Product team is responsible for defining, designing, and delivering exceptional experiences for our customers. Our team collaborates across Engineering, Design, Revenue and Ops teams to transform product opportunities into solutions that drive revenue.

This is a brand-new role on the product team. Your experience will help shape what it becomes. You'll own payments excellence by investigating patterns, building business cases, and directly impacting customer revenue and operational efficiency.

This role reports to our Director of Product Management and is open to Remote (US). #LIRemote

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Bestow is looking for a Payments Product Analyst to contribute in the following ways:

  • Own the investigation lifecycle. Take a signal (high NSF rate, reconciliation gap, auth rate drop) from definition through root-cause analysis to a written recommendation, coordinating with analytics, revenue, and support teams along the way.

  • Connect data and context. Frame the right questions with our analytics team, then connect with qualitative context from revenue and support that data alone won't surface. Work directly with carrier partner teams to understand the full picture.

  • Go deep on every opportunity. Independently analyze each opportunity’s revenue impact, root cause, urgency. Use AI tooling and your own judgment to move quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Produce intelligence artifacts. Your output is a document covering the problem, why it's happening, what we should do, and what it's worth.

  • Partner with the product team. Translate your findings into clearly prioritized opportunities so product managers can act on them. Help maintain and shape the opportunity backlog.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Payments-fluent. You know what an ACH return code means, why a reconciliation breaks, how retry logic works, and what a chargeback lifecycle looks like.

  • Investigative by nature. You dig into discrepancies and trace issues across complex, multi-party payment flows. Messy data doesn't scare you.

  • A clear communicator. You're comfortable owning external relationships with partner’s finance teams and coordinating across internal stakeholders.

  • Process-minded. You see manual work and immediately think about how to systematize and document it. You turn fragmented data into executive-ready views.

  • Experienced. You bring 3+ years in payment analysis, payment operations, or financial reconciliation ideally at a payments company, SaaS platform, or fintech.

  • Self-directed. You thrive with ownership and autonomy. You can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, from daily reconciliation tasks to longer-term optimization projects, without waiting to be told what's next.
