Job Description

The Risk Engineer involves carrying out qualitative and quantitative risk analyses to support oil & gas, energy and infrastructure projects with the management of their risks.

Responsibilities

• To manage and support projects within Risk Team portfolio and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary / contractual requirements. 
• To facilitate / chair qualitative risk studies (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs, FMEAs) or supporting others as a scribe. 
• Lead or support QRAs
• Complete a technical review of risk assessments completed by other team members.
• To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
• To support the development of others within the organisation through coaching and effective knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering, project management or a related field.
• Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, with experience facilitating / chairing workshops.
• In depth working experience in risk assessment / qualitative risk management.
• 10+ years’ risk management experience in oil & gas, energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of QRA Software (e.g. PHAST / SAFETI). 
• Good project management experience with engineering and commercial knowledge are preferred. 
• Proficiency in the English commensurate with the work, with the ability to produce comprehensive and detailed written reports.
