Job Description

English Language Examiner & Coordinator
Location: Auckland CBD
Part-time | Permanent | Hybrid

This is a permanent part-time position, working 8 hours per day on Wednesdays and Thursdays. From time to time, additional hours or days may be required during peak periods. The role is hybrid: you will attend campus for key meetings and coordination tasks, with the option to deliver examinations online from home.

About the role:

We are seeking an English Language Examiner & Coordinator to support the delivery, administration, assessment, and ongoing maintenance of the UP English Language Test (UPELT). UPELT is an English Language test used for admission purposes into our UPIC programmes.

The role includes conducting and rating speaking assessments, marking other test sections as required, supporting test scheduling and invigilation, maintaining accurate assessment records, and contributing to the improvement of UPELT test content, processes, and infrastructure. The role also supports Duolingo interviews, pathway-related assessments, and coordination with internal teams and partner schools as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related subject 
• Experience in language assessment or speaking exams.
• Experience in online test delivery through a range of Office 365 applications and other digital platforms is essential
• Understanding of standardised testing protocols and rubrics.
• Flexibility to mark other test sections as required.
• Experience in assessment coordination or working with partner schools and offshore stakeholders.
• Teaching qualification (TESOL, CELTA, Diploma in Education, etc.) is preferable.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with professional integrity and attention to detail.
