About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure vetting approvals are maintained and vessels are adequately prepared for inspections.
- Support Masters with vetting preparations, debriefings, and follow-up of observations.
- Analyze inspection results, identify trends, and recommend performance improvements.
- Conduct vessel visits, audits (navigation, mooring, cargo, behavioral), and crew competency assessments.
- Investigate marine, cargo, and navigational incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor compliance with alcohol and drug testing programs.
- Oversee cost control, maintenance, and budgeting for assigned vessels and equipment.
- Manage dry dock preparations, tendering, supervision, and delivery within budget and timeframe.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance, documentation, and efficient operations.
- Contribute to crew recruitment, training, and appraisals.
- Assess risks at ports/terminals and provide guidance on safe operations and cargo handling.
- Ensure compliance with international regulations, SMS, and industry best practices.
- Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely implementation across the fleet.
Qualifications
- Captain Class A License.
- Minimum 5 years’ sea experience on tanker/chemical vessels, including at least 3 years as senior deck officer.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in IT systems and software applications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of international regulations and marine industry developments.
