SDR Living is seeking an organised, proactive and compassionate HMO & Lettings Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our accommodation services across two housing sites in Eastbourne and Hastings.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager who enjoys a varied role, balancing operational leadership, resident welfare, property management and team development. You'll play a key role in creating safe, supportive and well-managed environments where residents can thrive.
The Role
As HMO & Lettings Manager, you will:
- Manage the daily operation of two housing sites
- Lead and support reception, housekeeping, maintenance and night teams
- Ensure properties remain safe, compliant and well maintained
- Oversee tenancy management and occupancy levels
- Support resident welfare, safeguarding and housing-related issues
- Build positive relationships with local authorities and partner agencies
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance and property inspections
- Manage move-ins, move-outs and room turnaround processes
- Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality and operational performance
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong leadership and organisational skills
- Can effectively manage multiple priorities
- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Remains calm and professional in challenging situations
- Demonstrates empathy, integrity and sound judgement
- Understands resident welfare and safeguarding responsibilities
- Is confident building relationships with residents, staff and external partners
Essential Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous people management experience
- Understanding of HMO and tenancy compliance requirements
- Strong IT and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider management team
Desirable
- Experience within housing, supported accommodation, homelessness services, social housing or property management
Full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
