Software Engineer

Nitex transforms a $1.5 trillion industry, the fashion supply chain. We build the connected backend of fashion: the technology, systems, and intelligence layer that helps brands move faster and factories run smarter.

This role is for an early-career engineer with serious problem-solving depth, not someone who only knows how to complete clean tutorial tasks. Fashion manufacturing is complex, messy, global, and under-digitised. That is exactly why the work matters. We need engineers who can enter unclear technical problems, reason from first principles, learn fast, and ship working systems.

The ideal candidate may be early in professional experience but not shallow in capability. We are looking for evidence of depth: hard projects, strong debugging instincts, database thinking, backend ownership, automation work, AI or data tooling, or any other proof that you can stay with difficult problems until they break.

THE ROLE

You will build reliable software and grow fast through real ownership.

1. Build, improve, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, automation pipelines, internal tools, and platform features.
2. Work with senior engineers, product managers, and operational teams to understand the real requirement before writing code.
3. Convert unclear technical tasks into clean implementation with clear updates, tested work, and responsible handoff.
4. Debug hard issues, trace root causes, and document what you learned so the next person moves faster.
5. Work with databases, queues, APIs, background jobs, scraping or automation systems, and AI-enabled workflows depending on team priorities.
6. Improve code quality, system reliability, performance, and documentation as part of everyday work, not as an afterthought.
7. Learn the domain: fashion supply chain, production, costing, quality, logistics, product and brand data, and internal operations.
8. Surface blockers early and propose a path forward. Quietly stuck is not acceptable here.

Success is not “I wrote code.” Success is software that works, ships, survives real use, and makes the team faster.

Who You Are

You are an early-career engineer with strong fundamentals and unusually high learning speed.

You may have 0–2 years of experience. You may be a fresh graduate, junior engineer, competitive programmer, strong internship performer, side-project builder, open-source contributor, or self-taught engineer with proof. We care less about the perfect CV and more about your learning curve, problem-solving ability, ownership, and evidence that you can become excellent fast.

You are strong if you can show evidence of:

• Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP, debugging, code organisation, and complexity awareness.
• Competitive programming background (Codeforces, LeetCode, AtCoder, ICPC, or similar).
• Ability to build backend logic, APIs, database-backed features, background workers, or scraping and automation pipelines.
• Database thinking: SQL, schema design, indexing, transactions, concurrency, query performance, and data-modelling instincts.
• Ability to read documentation, learn unfamiliar libraries, and solve edge cases without waiting for perfect instructions.
• Clean communication: clear PR notes, clear blocker updates, clear technical explanations.
• High ownership. You do not disappear when something breaks.
• Hunger to improve. Feedback makes you sharper, not defensive.
  

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker, AWS or cloud basics, CI/CD, Playwright or Selenium, or data pipeline tooling.
• Evidence of teaching, mentoring, club leadership, or helping other engineers learn.
  

WHO YOU ARE NOT

This role is wrong for you if you want a comfortable junior role where someone tells you every tiny step.

You will struggle here if you wait passively, copy-paste without understanding, avoid debugging, hide when stuck, or treat feedback as criticism. You will also struggle if your experience is only tutorial projects and you have no evidence of wrestling with hard problems.

Nitex is an operating company. The problems are real, changing, and sometimes messy. Good. That is where serious engineers are built.

THE WORK

Location: Dhaka 

Reporting line: Tech Lead / CTO.

Experience: 0–2 years. Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals and proof of work are welcome.

Growth path: Software Engineer → Senior Software Engineer → Team Lead, depending on impact.
