Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Meter Calibration Technician to join our team in Christchurch. 

As a full-time Meter Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for calibrating the Flow Meters at terminals throughout the South Island.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform Calibration of Flow Meters according to industry standards
  • Assist the metering staff across New Zealand to provide cover for holidays or when special runs are required, you must also be available to travel to Pacific Islands and nationally to carry out meter proving when required.
  • SGS will provide all training including bunker/ tanker operator to assist the Christchurch branch and other branches when these services are required.
  • Ensure all End of Month invoicing and reporting is completed, and all meter calibration reports are issued prior to leaving the customer's sites
  • Assist with Tank Cleaning when required
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to relevant health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Meter Calibration Technician would be preferred however training can be provided
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written
  • Computer literacy mandatory
  • Clean New Zealand driver's license
  • The ability to manage time and resources within agreed objectives
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Customer service experience
  • Willing to travel within New Zealand and Pacific Islands
  • Occasionally, you will be required to work weekends and public holidays
