Job Description

We are seeking a Junior LIMS IT Support Technician – Crystal Reports to join our Corporate IT team. In this role, you will be part of the IT Service Management team supporting our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), specifically G6 and SLIM technologies. You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing Crystal Reports-based solutions, ensuring high-quality reporting and data accuracy for laboratory operations across our global network.

This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience in Crystal Reports, SQL development, and application support. You will collaborate closely with functional analysts, laboratory users, and IT teams to deliver reliable and optimized reporting solutions that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Report Maintenance & Support

  • Maintain and update existing Crystal Reports to reflect changes in business logic or data structures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report generation, data accuracy, and performance.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for report-related incidents and user queries.

Development & Enhancements

  • Design and develop new Crystal Reports based on business and laboratory requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional analysts and end users to gather reporting needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Maintain and update reporting code and repositories in Azure DevOps, following SGS procedures.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all reports, including data sources, logic, and change history.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards.

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor report performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Schedule and automate report generation and distribution as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Required:

  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Crystal Reports (version 9.0 and above).
  • Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL).
  • Strong SQL development skills, including performance tuning.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into meaningful reports.
  • Experience with application support tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of LIMS systems and laboratory workflows.
  • Experience with GIT repositories and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in international environments.
