Job Description

1. Quality Assurance & Control

  • Conduct internal audits for QMS, FSMS, GMP, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor product and raw material compliance against specifications (COA creation, RM/PM approvals, product release).
  • Manage nonconformities and deviations: document, investigate root causes, and drive resolution.
  • Coordinate the blockage/de-blockage of non-conforming products and raw materials.

2. Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Oversee and verify implementation of QMS, hygiene and food safety protocols (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC).
  • Follow up on pest control, sanitation practices, and departmental hygiene compliance.
  • Participate in trial implementations and validations of new products or processes from a QA perspective.

3. Inspections, Audits & Documentation

  • Conduct onsite inspections in all production and storage areas, promote departmental compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date QA documentation (NCRs, complaints, traceability logs, audit records, etc.).
  • Support the preparation and execution of internal/ external audits.

4. Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation

  • Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, and quality failures using root cause analysis tools.
  • Participate in risk assessments, process studies, and suggest process improvements.
  • Support implementation of new QA protocols, materials, and procedures.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with production, supply chain, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality and compliance issues.
  • Provide QA-related feedback through reports, emails, and staff training sessions.
  • Participate in customer satisfaction surveys and implement follow-up quality improvements.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or other scientific disciplines.

Experience:

from 1-3 years of experience in QA/QC in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is preferred.

Familiarity with ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and relevant regulatory frameworks is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must, with knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred.
  • Data analysis and reporting capabilities. Basic programming (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and under pressure

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001/22000)
  • Food Safety or HACCP certification

Additional Information

Purpose of the Role:

To ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards, preventing the introduction or release of non-conforming products or materials. The QA Specialist plays a critical role in audits, process validation, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
