Job Description

Reports to the Manager – Structural/civil Engineering

2. Main assignments

Description of the Role

1. Responsible for the delivery of the quality structural engineering services to Socotec clients.
2. Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with relevant instructions
3. Comply with SOCOTEC’s group policies and procedures
4. Achieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplines

Main Tasks

1. Proceed with the review of documents according to the level of checking designated by the Management
2. Filter and select the applicable requirements verify that evidences are justified in the Design Package under review.
3. Insure compliance with standards, best practice, codes, regulations, etc...
4. Give a proven technical opinion to the submitted calculation notes and elements subject to the technical review
5. Elaborate and submit document review reports.

1. To comply with Socotec International and client quality, safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
2. Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.

Qualifications

1. Degree qualified in civil engineering – Specialty: buildings structures
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Design Consultancy office.
3. Experienced in international codes notably ACI and IBC codes; Knowledge of the Saudi code SBC is a plus.
4. Registered at the Lebanese Order of Engineers.
