Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed and patient-focused Pharmacist to oversee the safe dispensing of medical cannabis products and provide clinical guidance to patients within a regulated dispensary environment. The Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, educating patients on appropriate product use, and supporting optimal therapeutic outcomes.
The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical knowledge with excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care in a specialized and evolving healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Patient Care
- Provide professional consultation to patients regarding medical cannabis use, including dosage, administration methods, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Review patient profiles and medical documentation to ensure appropriate product recommendations
- Support patient education in alignment with prescribed treatment plans or physician guidance
- Monitor patient outcomes and provide follow-up recommendations when required
Dispensing & Product Management
- Oversee the safe and compliant dispensing of medical cannabis products
- Ensure all products are dispensed in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies
- Maintain knowledge of all available cannabis products, including formulations, potency, and therapeutic applications
- Collaborate with inventory teams to ensure appropriate stock levels and product integrity
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements governing medical cannabis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all dispensing activities
- Support internal audits and regulatory inspections
- Ensure adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA or equivalent regulations)
Collaboration & Team Support
- Work closely with the dispensary manager, sales associates, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations
- Provide training and guidance to non-clinical staff on product knowledge and safe practices
- Serve as the clinical authority within the dispensary
Quality Assurance & Safety
- Maintain high standards for product handling, storage, and security
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to patient safety and product use
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed patient records and consultation notes
- Document dispensing activity accurately within tracking systems
- Assist in preparing reports related to compliance, patient care, and inventory when required

Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with relevant regulatory authority
- Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm, PharmD, or equivalent)
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about medical cannabis, its applications, and regulatory framework
- Experience in clinical, retail, or dispensary pharmacy preferred
- Strong understanding of drug interactions, patient safety, and therapeutic management
