We are seeking an Energy Assessor to join our growing team in New Jersey. In this role, you’ll perform insulation and air sealing work that improves energy efficiency, comfort, and safety in homes. Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of construction or renovation experience
- Training in weatherization/energy efficiency principles
- 6 months to 1 year of weatherization experience (air sealing & insulation preferred)
- BPI Certification (Required)
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear, effective communication skills (technical and non-technical)
- Comfortable using handheld data devices and learning new technology
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for long periods
- Capable of lifting and carrying insulation materials/equipment
- Good vision (distance, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus)
- Valid driver’s license with at least three (3) years of a clean driving record
- Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Key Responsibilities
- Install home energy conservation measures (insulation, air sealing, weather stripping)
- Prepare attics for insulation (baffles, flooring, damming, attic rulers)
- Operate hand and power tools to complete installations
- Safely operate light and moderately heavy construction equipment
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines and company protocols
- Perform routine equipment maintenance
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
Operations & Reporting:
- Stock and check the service truck daily for required materials
- Complete job sheets, inspection checklists, and related paperwork
- Communicate status updates to management and team leaders
- Drive and operate company service vehicles (light to medium-duty trucks)
- Perform additional related tasks as needed to support successful project completion
