Job Description

Accountabilities:

  • Works with an interdisciplinary health care team to complete all clerical duties
  • Excellent work record essential
  • Utilizes excellent customer service skills when answering/directing telephone calls and booking appointments
  • Accurately processes all physicians orders using order entry through Meditech
  • Adhere to Osler privacy agreement
  • Attendance for clerical/departmental staff meetings as requested
  • Assists with extra clerical duties as assigned
  • Data collection for all programs
  • Functions within the health and safety guidelines to provide safe and supportive environment for all patients/families
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with competing priorities

    Qualifications

    • Medical terminology certificate required
    • Computer literacy and previous experience with Microsoft Office (Excel is required and Project an asset)
    • Successful completion of Meditech admissions and order entry programs essential
    • Successful completion of automated scheduling essential
    • Medical administration certificate or diploma preferred
    • Keyboarding skills 45/wpm
    • Evidence of ongoing education in office administration or other registration and booking processes
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
    • Previous office experience required (booking and registration required)
    • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
    • Data analysis experience preferred
    • Able to prioritize and function effectively in a busy environment
    • Demonstrated ability and experience through positive performance appraisals, work history and attendance records

    Additional Information

    Currently Days, 8 hours shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

    Salary: 

    Minimum: $26.31 per hour
    Maximum: $28.49 per hour
