Position Overview
RTFNetwork is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Mental Health Clinician to provide clinical leadership and oversight within the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC). This full-time position requires an LCSW-C who is approved or eligible to supervise LMSWs, LGPCs, and LGADCs. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, expertise in mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, and a passion for developing clinicians and ensuring quality care. The Lead Clinician will balance supervision and administrative duties with a manageable caseload of direct client services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to OMHC staff and interns, ensuring compliance with COMAR, Joint Commission, and agency policies.
  • Supervise and mentor LMSWs, LGPCs, LGADCs, and LCADCs (or provide supervision under approved eligibility).
  • Support integration of mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services through evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Conduct clinical documentation reviews, ensuring completeness, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate case consultations, clinical trainings, and team meetings to strengthen program quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director, department leads, and interdisciplinary staff to support quality improvement and program development.
  • Maintain a small clinical caseload to model effective, evidence-based therapeutic practices.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives, staff development, and policy implementation.


Qualifications

  • Active LCSW-C in Maryland.
  • Approved or eligible to supervise LMSWs, LGPCs, LGADCs, and LCADCs.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of behavioral health clinical experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong understanding of COMAR regulations, Joint Commission standards, and behavioral health documentation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive care.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in outpatient or community-based behavioral health settings.
  • Proficiency with TheraNest or similar EHR platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and support clinicians in professional growth.
  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
