Position Overview
Redefining the Future Network, Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) to join our growing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. This position is ideal for individuals pursuing certification as a Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) or higher credential in Maryland.
The ADT will provide supervised support services to individuals with substance use disorders while gaining hands-on clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct services to clients with substance use disorders under approved supervision
- Assist with screening, intake assessments, and biopsychosocial evaluations
- Support the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate or co-facilitate individual and group counseling sessions
- Deliver psychoeducation related to substance use, relapse prevention, and coping strategies
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with COMAR and Medicaid standards
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision and staff meetings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Support discharge planning and referrals to community resources
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered or eligible to register as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) in the state of Maryland
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field (preferred)
- Strong interest in pursuing SUD certification (CSC-AD, CAC-AD, etc.)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral health principles (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with substance use or co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT, or DBT approaches
- Experience with electronic health records (e.g., TheraNest)
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
