Job Description

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC). The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to excellence in veterinary education, clinical service, and research.

This position involves teaching didactic lectures and practical/laboratory sessions in Emergency and Critical Care to Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students, as well as providing clinical consultation services in the General Practice Small Animal Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lectures and hands-on laboratory instruction in Emergency and Critical Care to DVM students.
  • Supervise and mentor students during clinical rotations and practical sessions.
  • Provide clinical consultation and case management in the Small Animal Clinic, including after-hours emergency coverage on a rotating basis.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of ECC teaching materials and methods.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and continuing education.
  • Participate in faculty committees, accreditation processes, and other academic service roles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

Required:

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
  • Completion of a residency in Emergency and Critical Care and/or board certification (ACVECC, ECVECC, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and case management in ECC.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior academic teaching experience at the university level.
  • A record of scholarly activity or interest in research.
  • Experience working in multicultural or international environments.
