Position Summary


RUSVM invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant academic community with a strong emphasis on teaching excellence, student mentorship, and scholarly contribution—all in a supportive and inspiring tropical setting.

• Deliver engaging didactic and practical instruction in small animal internal medicine to veterinary students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement, with a focus on innovative, student-centered teaching methods.
• Participate in research and scholarly activities, supporting the school’s mission to expand its research footprint.
• Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, fostering their growth and professional development.

Qualifications

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree is required.
• Completion of advanced residency training in small animal internal medicine.
• Board certification by the ACVIM or ECVIM is preferred; however, board-eligible candidates will also be considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, and academic service.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and collegial approach to academic work.

Additional Information

Salary is competitive with US based universities and there is no income tax in St. Kitts which could result in an increase to your net salary. As an expatriate, you may still be responsible to report income in your home country. Additional benefits include a significant relocation and repatriation package, health insurance, generous annual continuous education budget and annual travel benefit, geographical living allowance to offset cost of living differences, retirement match (up to 4% of your salary) and 7 weeks paid leave between semesters.
