The Opportunity

BlueScope Distribution is looking for an Operations Supervisor to join the team based in Hobart. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.

In this hands-on role, you will be leading and providing guidance to a team of experienced warehouse team members at our Hobart site. You’ll lead by example ensuring our products are delivered on time for our customers and your safety and that of the team are never compromised.

Work Monday to Friday, with typical hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm, allowing for a good work/life balance. Enjoy an attractive salary package and participation in our annual profit share program (bonus). What Will You Do?

With a strong focus on teamwork, you will be:

  • leading and supervising our warehouse to ensure on-time and safe deliveries to our customers
  • supporting and assisting your team on-the-floor with daily operations and deliverables
  • identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and mitigate risk
  • ensuring safety standards are continuously evolving, championing change when risks and opportunities are identified
  • growing and mentoring your team to consistently develop and grow

More About You

 As a safety focused leader with an enthusiasm to see your team grow, you will bring:

  • a demonstrated ability in motivating and building high performing teams
  • experience working within an operations, warehousing or logistics environment
  • a current/active LF class High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) (or willingness to obtain one)
  • an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
  • proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
