Leading Service Company seeking experienced Senior Accountant to join the team in Parsippany NJ. 

Job Description

SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT – Morris County NJ ($65K-75K + Bonus)

Sr. Accountant is responsible for maintaining ledgers and providing support and analysis in a deadline-driven environment.  

This position will also play a key role in the monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the production of the monthly project P&L’s, financial statements and other financial management reporting. 

• Responsible for complete and accurate revenue recognition (external, internal and intra-company) and direct cost accruals where needed. 

• Understanding of project accounting including percentage of completion (POC) and related revenue recognition.

• Maintain detailed General Ledger Account analyses and sub-ledgers for a number of operating companies.

• Work cross-functionally with A/P, A/R, G/L and Tax staff to ensure accuracy at the transaction level and on ledgers.

• Support Financial Analysts in business units – providing transaction level details, explanations & analyses.

• Monitor global intercompany transactions and maintain intercompany reconciliation modules 

• Review and post standard and ad-hoc journal entries.

• Assist in the preparation of apportionment data provided to tax department to be used in the preparation of state and federal tax provisions and returns.

• Support internal and external audit processes.

         



Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

• BA/BS in Finance/Accounting or equivalent

• CPA or pursuing CPA 

• 2-4 years’ experience in accounting, public accounting or dynamic private industry environment.

• Working knowledge of accounting principles and cost/project accounting concepts.

• Knowledge of automated accounting package; SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 

• Completely fluent with Microsoft Excel and Word including Pivot tables and V-Lookup functionality.

• Good communication skills and comfortable working in an interactive environment.

• Strong desire to grow and learn and take on new responsibilities.
