About this role

Company Description

EMS Unlimited (Event Medical Solutions Unlimited, LLC) is a paramedic-owned, veteran-operated ground ambulance company founded in 2012 and headquartered in Rifle, Colorado. We provide ALS, BLS, and Critical Care Transport services across multiple states, operate an active federal contract portfolio, and run a dedicated wildland fire and disaster response team under USDA Forest Service Blanket Purchase Agreements. All employees are direct W-2 hires — no agencies, no contractors.

This position supports our newly awarded U.S. Army contract (W81K0026CA004) providing 24/7/365 ground ambulance emergency response services at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Job Description

Position Summary

The Paramedic delivers Advanced Life Support emergency medical care at Fort Leavenworth Garrison around the clock. As the clinical lead of a two-person crew on a 24/48 or 48/96 schedule, you execute the full ALS scope — IV/IO access, pharmacology, advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, and defibrillation — under Kansas protocols and Medical Director standing orders. This is a high-acuity, mission-critical role serving an active military installation that relies on EMS Unlimited as its sole ground ambulance provider.

  • Lead the two-person crew as the clinical decision-maker at all ALS scenes
  • Perform patient assessments and deliver ALS care per Kansas EMS protocols and Medical Director standing orders
  • Administer medications via IV, IM, or IO per protocols; verify with Medical Director as required

Compensation

  • $80,000 annual equivalent
  • Health and Wellness benefit of $5.09/hr

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA), which requires EMS Unlimited to provide a Health & Welfare (H&W) benefit of $5.09 per hour worked. H&W is a federally mandated fringe benefit — it is not discretionary. The $5.09/hr can be applied in one of two ways: it can be directed toward your share of the company's medical benefits plan (health, dental, vision), effectively reducing or eliminating your out-of-pocket premium cost; or, if you waive employer-sponsored coverage and provide proof of other qualifying coverage, it can be paid to you as cash in lieu of benefits, added directly to your paycheck. Either way, you receive the full value — it is part of your total compensation, not a deduction from your base pay.

Benefits and Culture

  • AT&T FirstNet device, ZOLL emsCharts, and full EMS Unlimited technology stack
  • Peer recognition through Bonusly
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-expanding multi-state EMS organization
