Position Overview

Many believers have questions about the Christian faith that are not easily answered in Sunday school, casual conversation, or online searches. We are seeking a contract writers to develop Christ-centered, theologically rich, and highly accessible books that helps lay readers understand challenging or frequently asked questions about God, Scripture, and the Christian life.



These books should:

  • Explain deep theological truths clearly and accurately
  • Include stories, examples, and real-life applications that help readers connect theology to everyday life
  • Anticipate the reader’s common questions and struggles, addressing them in a practical, engaging way
  • Help readers grow in faith, understanding, and love for Christ
  • See below list of suggested topics for these books



The strongest proposals will clearly define the target audience and demonstrate how the book will meet their specific questions, struggles, or curiosities about God and the gospel.

Suggested Topics

We are particularly interested in proposals that explore one specific theological topic in a fresh, accessible, and practical way. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

  • The Holy Spirit – Who the Spirit is, how He works, gifts of the Spirit, guidance, and growth in holiness
  • The Trinity – How God is three-in-one, and how understanding the Trinity shapes worship, prayer, and community
  • Heaven, Hell, and Eternity – Resurrection, eternal perspective, and living in light of eternity
  • The Character of God – God’s love, justice, faithfulness, and how to trust Him in trials
  • Sin, Forgiveness, and Grace – Understanding sin, God’s forgiveness, and practical application of grace
  • The Bible Itself – How to read Scripture, reconcile apparent contradictions, and hear God’s voice today
  • Spiritual Warfare – Understanding the reality of spiritual conflict, how to resist temptation, and walk in victory through Christ

Writers are encouraged to propose topics not on this list, as long as the focus remains theologically rich, accessible, and practical for a lay audience.


Scope of Work

  • Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words) 
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of revision
  • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitment


Commitment

Contract, per-project basis.


Compensation

Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity.


Additional Information

Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on the project timeline.

Proposal Requirements

Please submit all materials in a single PDF (not a Word Doc or Google Doc) that includes:

1. Title and Subtitle

2. Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences)

3. One-Paragraph Summary
Provide a concise overview of the book’s purpose, scope, structure, and tone.

4. Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections)
Who this book is specifically for

  • Their stage or season of life 
  • The particular struggles, questions, or longings they are experiencing
  • Why this book matters to them now
  • Tip: Specificity is essential. Broad descriptions such as “Christian women” or “believers” are not sufficient.

5. Summary of Resources and Theological Approach

Describe the key sources that will inform your interpretation and application of this biblical text, including commentaries or theological works, and explain how these sources shape your approach and serve the intended reader.

6. Potential Theological and Interpretive Issues

Provide a brief list of potential theological tensions, debated interpretive issues, or common application pitfalls that arise from this biblical text, and explain how you plan to address them faithfully and in accordance with TDGC’s ecumenical approach.

7. Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years)
Identify 2–3 comparable books published within the last five years and explain:

  • How your book overlaps with each one
  • How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis

8. Author Bio
Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this book, including:

  • Education
  • Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience
  • Subject-matter expertise
  • Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate)
  • Previous publishing or writing experience

9. Detailed Chapter Outline
Provide a working table of contents that includes:

  • Chapter titles
  • The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book

10. Front and Back Matter 
Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.).

11. Timeline and Specifications
Include:

  • Current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.)
  • Estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words)
  • Anticipated manuscript delivery date

12. Other Book Ideas (Optional)

If you have additional book concepts that may be a fit for The Daily Grace Co., please include a brief description of each idea (1–3 sentences per concept). While these ideas will not be considered part of the current proposal, they may be considered for future publishing opportunities.
13. Sample Material

  • Two fully written sample chapters representative of the final manuscript
