The Design Director (Graphics) leads the visual expression of creative and strategic ideas across live, experiential and event environments—translating concepts into brand focussed bold, coherent and beautifully executed graphic systems.


You will work at the intersection of brand, storytelling and spatial design, ensuring that every touchpoint is visually compelling, strategically aligned, production-ready and on brand.

 

Here's what you'll do:

1. Creative Leadership

  • Lead the development of graphic concepts across pitches, campaigns and live event projects
  • Set the visual direction for ,event brand identities, relevant key visuals and content design (motion and social)
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of craft across all outputs
  • Push creative boundaries while maintaining clarity and purpose


2. Translating Ideas into Environments

  • Work closely with Creative Directors, 3D Designers and Producers to bring ideas to life physically through graphic design
  • Adapt graphic systems across large-scale builds, stage design, signage & wayfinding and digital screens and content
  • Understand how graphics behave in different materials and for different audiences


3. Pitch & Concept Development

  • Play a key role in early-stage thinking and pitch work
  • Develop visually compelling routes that, sell ideas clearly, excite clients and differentiate the agency
  • Create presentation-ready visuals that balance concept and feasibility
  • Ensure the impact and clarity of the presentions themselves


4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and inspire a team of designers across multiple projects
  • Provide clear direction, feedback and guidance
  • Support the growth and development of designers across the Studio
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, craft and collaboration


5. Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative Directors (concept), Account Teams (client needs), Producers (feasibility and delivery) and Technical teams (build and installation)
  • Act as the bridge between creative ambition, brand mandatories and real-world execution


6. Craft, Detail & Consistency

  • Oversee design development from concept through to final artwork
  • Ensure consistency across all visual outputs
  • Maintain rigorous attention to typography,  layout, colour, information hierarchy and material application


7. Production Awareness

  • Understand print and digital production processes
  • Work with suppliers to maintain quality in delivery
  • Anticipate challenges and adapt designs accordingly


8. Brand & Visual Systems

  • Build scalable visual systems that work across environments, content and digital platforms
  • Ensure brand expression is both consistent and creatively interpreted


We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Designer or Design Director within a creative agency (ideally live events, experiential or branding)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic identity systems, campaign work and environmental graphics
  • Exceptional typographic and layout skills
  • Ability to think conceptually and execute with precision
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects
