General Information

The Avionics / B2 Technician will support a major H145 helicopter maintenance, repair and operations program in Saudi Arabia. The role is focused on the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing, and documentation of avionics, electrical, communication, navigation, mission, and aircraft electronic systems installed on the H145 platform.

The position requires hands-on experience in rotary-wing avionics maintenance, preferably on H145, EC145, BK117 family aircraft, or comparable twin-engine helicopters. The technician will work under approved maintenance procedures and technical documentation to ensure that all avionics-related maintenance activities are performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with applicable aviation standards.

The role is suitable for an experienced B2 avionics technician with strong practical troubleshooting capability, good documentation discipline, and the ability to support both operational maintenance and training-related activities.

Job Description

Main Job Description

The Avionics / B2 Technician will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on H145 avionics and electrical systems in accordance with approved maintenance manuals, technical publications, work orders, inspection cards, and customer procedures.

The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, replacing, testing, and functionally checking avionics systems, electrical systems, communication systems, navigation systems, cockpit displays, flight control interfaces, mission equipment, warning systems, aircraft lighting, sensors, wiring, connectors, and related electronic components.

The role includes working on H145 avionics architecture, including integrated cockpit systems, Helionix avionics environment, communication and navigation equipment, flight management functions, autopilot interfaces, electrical power distribution, data buses, control panels, emergency systems, and associated line-replaceable units.

The technician will support defect rectification, fault isolation, component replacement, continuity checks, bonding and grounding checks, wiring inspections, software/configuration checks where applicable, and operational testing after maintenance. The technician will also assist with aircraft inspections, pre-flight and post-maintenance checks, technical documentation updates, and coordination with B1 technicians, quality control, engineering, logistics, and maintenance supervision.

The position may also require supporting on-the-job training, mentoring junior technicians, and assisting with knowledge transfer activities where required by the project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform avionics and electrical maintenance on H145 helicopters in accordance with approved maintenance data.
  • Carry out scheduled inspections, unscheduled defect rectification, troubleshooting, testing, and functional checks.
  • Inspect, repair, replace, and test avionics, electrical, communication, navigation, display, warning, lighting, sensor, mission, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot faults using aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, fault isolation manuals, test equipment, and approved technical references.
  • Support maintenance activities related to H145 integrated avionics, cockpit systems, autopilot interfaces, electrical power distribution, data systems, and line-replaceable units.
  • Perform wiring inspections, continuity checks, bonding checks, connector inspections, and electrical fault isolation.
  • Remove, install, and test avionics components and electronic equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, work cards, inspection records, technical log entries, defect reports, and component replacement records accurately.
  • Coordinate with B1 technicians, quality control, maintenance supervisors, logistics, and engineering support teams.
  • Ensure proper use and control of calibrated tools, test equipment, ground support equipment, and technical documentation.
  • Report defects, technical issues, safety concerns, and non-conformities through the proper channels.
  • Follow FOD prevention, safety, human factors, and maintenance discipline requirements.
  • Support OJT activities and provide practical guidance to junior technicians when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in hangar, line, and workshop areas.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

The candidate must hold a minimum diploma in aircraft maintenance with avionics specialization, or a recognized aviation training program in avionics maintenance of at least two years.

The candidate must have at least five years of proven aviation experience in a military or civilian maintenance environment, including at least three years of experience as an avionics technician on the relevant aircraft platform or comparable rotary-wing aircraft.

The candidate must have completed an aircraft type rating course or specialized course on the relevant aircraft platform from a recognized organization. The course should have a minimum duration of four weeks. H145 aircraft OJT logbook, practical training records, or documented hands-on maintenance experience on H145 are preferred.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum diploma in Aircraft Maintenance with Avionics specialization, or recognized aviation avionics maintenance training program of at least two years.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven aviation maintenance experience in military or civilian operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an Avionics / B2 Technician on the respective aircraft platform or comparable rotary-wing platform.
  • Proven aircraft type rating course or specialized aircraft course on the relevant platform from a recognized organization, with minimum duration of four weeks.
  • H145 OJT logbook, practical training record, or documented H145 hands-on experience is preferred.
  • Train-the-Trainer course certificate is required.
  • Previous experience on H145, EC145, BK117 family aircraft, or comparable twin-engine helicopters is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft avionics systems, electrical systems, communication systems, navigation systems, cockpit displays, warning systems, wiring, connectors, sensors, and electronic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, fault isolation manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, service bulletins, and technical instructions.
  • Practical experience using avionics test equipment, electrical measuring tools, continuity testers, and approved aircraft diagnostic equipment.
  • Good understanding of aviation safety, maintenance documentation, defect rectification, component traceability, tooling control, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with B1 technicians, quality control, supervisors, logistics, engineering, and customer representatives.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and standard office automation tools.
  • English language level of minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent for non-native speakers, or English level to be assessed during interview.
  • All qualifications, licenses, certificates, OJT records, training records, experience, and CV claims must be supported by official documentation.
