Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Civil Structural Analyst - Engineering (DS108) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.  This service supports Environmental Management Sector Clients (For Present / Future Requirements) and ProSidian Team Members work as part of a Engagement Team Cadre (Labor Category Civil Structural Analyst DS108) to fulfill requirements.

Civil Structural Analyst - Engineering (DS108) Candidates perform advanced Civil-Structural Analyst Functions (structural analyses) of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include the ability to perform the following:

  • Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI);
  • dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history);
  • development of in-structure seismic response spectra, and to evaluate structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration).

Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations.  Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.

Qualifications

Education:

MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.

Experience /Skills:

  • Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D or similar computer codes.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349).
  • Candidate must have the ability to perform field walk-downs of structural systems.

Work Hours:

  • A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRR holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:  A security clearance is not required

All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.  The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

  • U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
  • All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the USG’s designated Security Office.

  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance.

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, as allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. 

LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
