Job Description

The Cyber Security Platforms Lead is responsible for managing security capabilities across our multi-cloud and SaaS environments. The role ensures cloud security, data protection, identity security, vulnerability management, and threat detection capabilities are continuously optimised to effectively manage an evolving threat landscape.

This is a hands‑on, technically focused role responsible for operating and integrating advanced security platforms, automating security processes through code, and proactively hunting threats within the SIEM. Working closely with the Cyber Security team and technology stakeholders, the role provides deep subject‑matter expertise and guidance on the secure design, implementation, and optimisation of cyber security platforms and technical controls across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own and operate CSPM and SIEM capabilities across multi‑cloud and SaaS environments, using policy‑driven controls and infrastructure‑as‑code to maintain visibility, detect risk, and partner with platform teams to remediate security issues.
  • Define, develop, and deploy custom security rules (e.g., Azure Policy, AWS Config Rules) to enforce security baselines and address specific use cases, such as managing public access to storage accounts based on data classification.
  • Own and operate data security and DLP capabilities, covering data discovery, classification, sensitivity labelling, and integrated enforcement controls, with continuous policy tuning to reduce data exfiltration and false positives.
  • Identify, design, and maintain security automation to streamline incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance through workflow orchestration and scripting.
  • Own vulnerability management end‑to‑end, including asset discovery, risk‑based prioritisation, remediation tracking with technology teams, and validation of fixes.

Qualifications

This role suits a senior, hands‑on security practitioner who is comfortable working autonomously and owning outcomes end‑to‑end. You’re pragmatic, technically confident, and able to prioritise effectively in a complex environment, with the communication skills to influence stakeholders without formal authority. At this stage of your career, you’re focused on deep technical ownership and continuous improvement, with the appetite to help shape and scale the function over time, including the opportunity to build a team as the capability grows.

  • 3–5 years’ hands‑on experience in cloud security across Azure and/or AWS environments, supported by a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud security, identity security, data protection, vulnerability management, and threat detection.
  • Proven experience operating CSPM and SIEM capabilities, including investigating alerts, tuning detections, and supporting threat hunting.
  • Practical experience defining and enforcing cloud security controls and baselines through policy and configuration.
  • Hands‑on scripting and automation experience (PowerShell and/or Python), with an understanding of APIs and workflow automation.
  • Solid understanding of identity security concepts, including conditional access, least privilege, and identity‑based threat investigation.
